This text brings an interview with Professor PhD. Eduardo Fleury Mortimer during the event "Jornadas da Educação em Ciências e Matemática", held in 2017 by the Graduate Program in Scientific, Educational and Technological Training of the Federal Technological University of Paraná. In this interview Professor Mortimer discusses his career as a researcher in the teaching of chemistry, the changes in the teaching of chemistry throughout the history of Brazilian education. The interviewee also talks about the expectations for the teaching of chemistry and Brazilian education.
