Uterine Septum Surgery

Abstract

The management of uterine septum is a highly controversial subject. There are conflicting reports on the benefits of the procedure. The lecture will attempt to analyse the primary reasons behind the controversy, and put forward a pragmatic, modern approach to the management of uterine septum in women with reproductive failure, including precision in diagnosis, patient selection for expectant vs surgical options, various surgical techniques for different types of septum, recommended post-operative care to ensure optimal outcome, and proposed monitoring in a subsequent pregnancy.
