This research deals with the issue of strictness in discrediting of the narrators of hadith and exaggeration in it, which is an issue of the sciences of men in general and the science of discrediting and modification in particular. Despite the importance and gravity of this topic in the field of narration, it remained as an abstract application of rules and controls, and as models scattered in the translations of books on men, and books on discrediting and modification. There was an urgent need to explain the reasons for cases of extremism in discrediting the narrators and exaggeration in their innuendo (justice, chivalry, or discipline) and ijtihaad in setting controls that ensure that the words of critics are put in their contexts. By clarifying the concept of strictness, explaining its divisions and causes, and making ijtihad in establishing its controls and recognizing its effects, we can explain this creation in critics in a positive way in many of its applications, because the motive for it is nothing but guarding revelation and protecting the narration from the absurdity of the trivial and the impersonation of the false.
