HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE OF RUSSIA AND SERBIA IN HISTORICAL MEMORY AND MENTALITY OF STUDENT YOUTH OF TWO COUNTRIES
Abstract
The aim of the work is a comparative analysis of the peculiarities of the mental perception by Serbian and Russian students of the particularities of the history and culture of two countries. Methodology of work. The study used a cross-cultural approach to mentality to understand the cultural and historical proximity of peoples. 330 respondents, students of the University of Novi Sad and the Volga – region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of Kazan took part in a survey on the history and culture of Russia and Serbia.To assess the qualitative characteristics of these countries, the ranking scaling method was used. Discussion. The results indicate a high level of knowledge and understanding of the historical and cultural community and the identity of the two countries and peoples by students. They know and understand that the creation of the statehood of the Slavic peoples took place from the time of the formation of tribal unions to the formation of the early states (VI–XIV centuries), although the formation of such states in different groups of Slavs differs in time. Both Russian and Serbian students understand that the Orthodox religion, language, membership in a Slavic group unites these peoples. Scope of the results. The results of the work can be taken into account when determining the main directions of cultural interaction between young representatives of the Slavic peoples. The results of the study can serve as the basis for the development of history teaching courses in universities, with an emphasis on comparing key events and processes of state and world history.
