This article presents the results from a qualitative empirical research, held in Portugal, at Lisboa Ocidental Hospital Centre (CHLO), from 2009-2012. The main objectives were to identify and understand the impact of patients in “extreme vulnerability” on primary caregivers lifes, through a multidimensional perspective. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, with ten primary caregivers, both men and women, on a domiciliary context.
