Teatro Abierto 1985 y el proyecto “Otro Teatro”: en la búsqueda de la eficacia política para un teatro militante en democracia
Abstract
In 1985, Teatro Abierto, which emerged in the framework of the last Argentine military dictatorship, persisted with its actions. That year, three different projects were promoted that expressed the tensions within it in the face of the advent of the democratic regime. One sector concentrated its forces on the cycle entitled “Nuevos autores. Nuevos directores” of a rather pedagogical nature and tending to build a “relay” within the realistic aesthetics, typical of independent theater. On the other hand, the remaining two projects, "Teatrazo" and "Otro Teatro", presented as an everyday denominator appeal to aesthetics tending to overwhelm theater halls. In this work, I will reconstruct three experiences that were part of the "Otro Teatro" project, in which theatrical practices of a militant nature typical of the radicalized 70s reverberated strongly. For this work, we appeal to internal documents of the movement itself, records in mass circulation press, and interviews of protagonists of those experiences.
