Life experience shows that only half of doctors have a professional vocation. Among the rest, more than half of the doctors received professional aptitude due to persistent self-education in the conditions of universities and independent practical activities. All of them fully fulfill their professional duties. However, many among medical workers are not sure of the correct choice of a profession. They become mediocre specialists, who, according to the phrase of the outstanding clinician M.Ya. Mudrov, are “more harmful than helpful”. Since humanism refers to the acquired phenomena, the professional suitability of the doctor must be instilled from the students by the method of self-education and self-improvement in the process of medical practice
