Abstract

This paper presents the results of a study of struggles and social movements for education in Brazil, since 1970 up to now. The paper has two parts: the first gives historical data of the fights for education in Brazil after 1970. The second part presents one of the subjects of the educational process ¿ the professionals from the basic schools, acting by a syndicate or not. In this article, it is analyzed one of the several possibilities of social movement - that one which fights for education. The historical analysis of fights and social movements for education in Brazil, from 1970 on, in accordance with the Brazilian political situation.
