Amb l'ànima ferida : el debat dels béns bibliogràfics a Mèxic
Abstract
Objectiu. Analitzar la situació actual que caracteritza el patrimoni bibliogràfic de Mèxic, per determinar les possibles vies d'actuació que permetin garantir la permanència dels objectes custodiats en totes les institucions, públiques o privades. -- Metodologia. Anàlisi històrica de les institucions de custòdia, en especial de la Biblioteca Nacional de México i la seva relació jurídica amb les altres institucions del patrimoni cultural mexicà. Aquesta relació s'estableix per mitjà de la revisió dels textos jurídics per determinar semblances i diferències en el reconeixement del patrimoni bibliogràfic i la valoració corresponent. -- Resultats. L'aïllament que s'ha produït de la Biblioteca Nacional de México en el marc de l'esfera cultural i de la legislació corresponent, no li permet apuntalar projectes d'interès general amb finalitats a llarg termini i de naturalesa patrimonial. Això impedeix que aquesta institució aconsegueixi constituir-se com a capdavantera de polítiques culturals que protegeixin adequadament el llegat bibliogràfic del país.Objective. To analyze the current state of the bibliographic heritage of Mexico in order to identify possible courses of action that might ensure the permanence of objects housed in public and private institutions. -- Methodology. Historical analysis of custodial institutions, in particular that of the National Library of Mexico and of its legal relationship with the other institutions of Mexican cultural heritage. An understanding of this relationship is obtained by reviewing legal documents so as to identify similarities and differences in the recognition afforded the bibliographic heritage and the way in which it is appraised. -- Results. The isolation suffered by the National Library of Mexico within the framework of the wider cultural sphere and the prevailing legislation does not allow it to support heritage projects of general interest and with long-term goals. This is preventing the Library from establishing itself as a leader of cultural policies that might provide adequate protection to the country’s bibliographic heritage.
