Hemodialysis dose and frequency should be considered in subgroup analysis
Abstract
Abstract The article by Wang et al. titled “Exploring the mortality and cardiovascular outcomes with SGLT-2 inhibitors in patients with T2DM at dialysis commencement: a health global federated network analysis” demonstrated that new SGLT-2i use in T2DM patients at the onset of dialysis was associated with a reduced long-term risk of all-cause mortality and MACE over a median follow-up duration of 2.0 years. However, the hemodialysis dose and frequency, which are significant confounding factors, were not included in the study’s subgroup analysis. We raise concerns about this limitation, which may affect the study’s findings.
