In contemporary times, visual communication’s role in facilitating information exchange between journalists and the public has grown significantly. Leveraging the potency of visual perception stands as a foundational tenet in the realm of information visualization within journalism. Information visualization techniques in journalism encompass a spectrum of mediums, including illustrations, photographs, graphics, and various multimedia formats. Among these, infographics are a potent means for effectively conveying news information. This study examines the utilization of infographics by the Vietnam News Agency from September 2014 to the present day. Over these nine years, the Vietnam News Agency produced a staggering total of 19596 graphic works. Notably, static graphics eclipse their dynamic counterparts across all sectors and categories. An in-depth analysis of specific categories reveals that the Economy – Integration category leads the pack with 1194 works (35.9%) from September 2022 to September 2023. Our research findings underscore that graphic information is an illustrative supplement to articles and an independent work representing the entire article.
