SBA-Pr-Imine-Furan, as an adsorbent, was prepared by the functionalization of SBA-Pr-NH2 with furfural in 2 steps. The absorbent intensity of Pd2+ by SBA-Pr-Imine-Furan was studied by the atomic absorbance spectroscopy (AAS), which was demonstrated a high capacity to adsorb Pd(II) ions. Many factors affect the adsorbent, such as pH, the sample solution concentration, contact time, and the used eluent in optimized conditions. The maximum adsorption capacities of Pd(II) ion were found for SBA-Pr-Imine-Furan, was 200 mg g−1.
