Entrepreneurial education in children of elementary school. The case of the “Alfredo V. Bonfil” elementary school in Los Mochis, Sinaloa
Abstract
We introduce the entrepreneurial program that was presented in the sixth grade of an elementary school in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, in 2024 and which was exhibited at an entrepreneur fair. The aim of this paper is to describe the experience from the educational point of view of this entrepreneurial program. Through a case study and with the support of the microethnographic approach, the children’s experience was described that served, not only for the creation of a mini-business, but also for their personal development, motivating entrepreneurial behavior and family teamwork. It is highlighted that the pedagogical bases of this program were pragmatism, meaningful learning, play and playful dynamics, which allowed more learning than expected. We found that children showed a greater interest in marketing, more than in the other elements of entrepreneurship, mainly in the generation of the names of businesses and products and the design of advertising posters.
