Overview of the of Arctic shipping role and ensuring of its environmental safety

Abstract

Abstract. Intensive industrial development of the Russian Arctic and the revival of the Northern Sea Route inevitably increase environmental risks. This creates necessity of rational economic activity in this fragile region, detailed researches of development problems, and ensuring environmental safety of the Arctic shipping. The role of the shipping, technical and technological requirements for ships sailing along the route are considered in the manuscript.
