Study on Corrosion Behavior of Pressure Vessel Steel in Simulated Industrial Wharf Atmospheric Environment
Abstract
For studying the corrosion behavior of pressure vessel steel in simulated industrial marine atmospheric environment, the weight loss analysis,EDS,XRD and electrochemical methods were used to study the corrosion behavior of pressure vessel steel Q235 and 16MnNiVR under different simulated accelerated test cycles. Results showed that in the simulated industrial marine atmospheric environment, the corrosion rate of pressure vessel steel Q235 and 16MnNiVR first exhibited an upward trend. As the rust layer gradually changed from loose to dense, the corrosion rate would decrease to varying degrees.Under this accelerated test, the chemical properties of the corrosion products of the two steels were consistent, and the difference in corrosion behavior was caused by the compactness of the corrosion products on the surface of the metal substrate.Besides, the corrosion resistance of 16MnNiVR steel could reach 1.6 times of that of Q235 steel under the action of corrosion factor of industrial marine atmosphere environment in the southeast coast.
