Abstract This resource is a simulation scenario that guides beginner anesthesia providers through a sequence of actions required for successful and safe rapid sequence induction. Communication and utilization of available tools and personnel are emphasized. The presented simulation scenario has been successfully used in the education of junior residents and medical students at the University of Minnesota Anesthesiology Department. Evaluations by junior residents rated the scenario as very helpful. Residents felt that it helped them develop medical knowledge, that it improved their communication skills with personnel, and that it featured an organized and logical sequence of steps during rapid sequence induction.
