COMPETENCIAS CIUDADANAS Y CIVILIZACIÓN -- CITIZEN COMPETENCE AND CIVILIZATION

Abstract

The citizen competence training was implemented in 2003 and has since served to promote peaceful coexistence, public participation and the appreciation of diversity. Based on the assumption that there is a relation between the concepts of civilization and citizenship, this article seeks to fathom out the implications this pedagogical approach would have in a sociocultural context marked by the aftermaths of the violent internal conflict and drug trafficking.
