The topic of the entry is a handwritten dedication discussed in the context of etymology, use, authorship and performative importance of inscriptive formulas. The attention has been focused on the renaissance as a starting point for the modern practising handwritten dedication as well on it’s aspects in the research fields of bibliology, linguistics, textology, rhetoric analysis, biographistics, mnemology, museography and knowledge about collections, sociology of textual communities and literary micrology.
