Archipriest Ioann Bazarov and V. A. Zhukovskij: an observation on the history of the religious-philosophical quest of the Russian educated society in the 1840ies
Abstract
Based upon an extensive range of unpublished correspondence between the poet V. A. Zhukovsk. and archipriest I. Bazarov, the article describes the poet’s religiousphilisophical quest, his longing for “live faith” as well as the constructions of the orthodox everyday life and family relations. The example of these relations illustrates the infl uence of the orthodox clergy on a whole generation of the figures of Russian culture
