The testing evaluation of digital torque screwdrivers by using a torque screwdriver tester

Abstract

Hand torque screwdrivers (HTSs) with electrical indicating devices (Type I, Class E defined in ISO 6789-1: 2017; called “digital torque screwdrivers”) manufactured by several manufacturers were tested and evaluated. The digital torque screwdriver is the most accurate in all types of HTSs in general. The reference standard was a torque screwdriver tester (TST) with a rated capacity of 60 cN m. This TST has been calibrated by using a traceable reference torque screwdriver (RTS). Testing results are described with some characteristics.
