VOX. RECURS LA TRECUT

Abstract

Radical right-wing parties are gaining strength on the political scene in France (Rassemblement national, RN), Germany (Alternative für Deutschland, AFD), Italy (Lega Nord, LN; Fratelli d’Italia, FdI), Poland (Prawo i Sprawiedliwość, PiS), Hungary (Magyar Polgári Szövetség, FIDESZ) and so on. The above political entities have been elected by the European citizens in the EU institutions to oppose certain policies and reform the EU from within. For a long time, Spanish democracy was distinguished by the absence of a radical right-wing discourse, but this exceptionality came to an end in 2018, with the penetration of Vox into the political institutional framework. This study aims to outline the trajectory of Vox, the defining elements of its ideology, and especially the role of history in weaving its narrative.
