From «thanatopolitics» to the universalization of economic rationality: «thanatoeconomy»

Abstract

The article has as an objective to put into evidence the progression from biological totalitarianism to totalitarianism of the life death market in world society. With this end a track is marked through the history of thanatopolitics and its etymological relationship. Methodically, a document review was carried out to set the general antecedents associated with the principle techniques of power that culminate with the prioritization of biological politics: with this the principle aspects that characterize thanatopolitics are described, and achieved is an analysis of some of the characteristics on which the universalization of economic rationality are based, especially in Germany and the United States. It is concluded that today in the neoliberal market human beings have been reduced to mere capital, due to the invasion of economic rationality in all the spheres of out society.
