THE LANGUAGE SITUATION IN THE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS OF I-II LEVELS OF ACCREDITATION IN NIKOPOL CITY

The article is dedicated to the study of the language situation in the educational institutions of the secondary specialized education of Nikopol city in Dnipropetrivsk region in order to identify the language preferences of the modern student youth of the East of Ukraine and to determine the tendencies of the Ukrainian language as the main way of communication in all spheres of life of the city. The research material was the questionnaire held at the Nikopol Medical College and the Nikopol Pedagogical College of Kryvyi Rih National University. The results of the research showed that the majority of students considers the Ukrainian language to be native and prestigious and aspires to use it in everyday life, one way or another tries to use it in their lives while watching native films or listening to music of modern Ukrainian singers, chooses it as a language of education, aspires to make it better in use, and so on.
