Modern Interpretations of Sab’ah Ahruf: An Analytical Study

Abstract

A large number of Islamic traditions indicate the Qur'änic revelation is based on Sab'ah Ahruf. What does Sab'ah Ahruf mean? Numerous interpretations from the very beginning of Islamic history have been done, but the ambiguity is not going to end about it. Modern scholars are from a different approach apart from the earlier intelligentsias. Modern scholars have divided Sab'ah Ahruf traditions into groups. Every group reflects a different shade of meaning as well as the ambiguity has been vanished. An attempt has been taken to solve the above said problem in a modern scholarly perspective.
