A LOOK AT THE INTERCULTURAL FOCUS AS AN ANSWER FOR SOCIAL DEMANDS IN HIGHER EDUCATION: THE UNICH CASE STUDY
Abstract
In this article, various social implications of the intercultural approach to higher education are analyzed, specifically in the case of the Intercultural University of Chiapas, to determine the extent to which certain problems have been addressed and needs through teaching, research, community bonding, the revitalization of originating languages and other actions that make a difference in the terminal efficiency of graduates. The text will not address conceptual distinctions on what is meant by interculturality, an aspect that generates complexity and contradictions, but will be defined in the how of the matter to characterize what is the impact of UNICH in real terms in a complicated state context.
