Given the traditional single-value assessment index for the energy storage system, a multi-dimensional value assessment method for the energy storage system of distribution networks is proposed. With different applications and composite values of the energy storage system taken into account, the multi-dimensional indexes are pre-selected and calculated in terms of economy, reliability, and environmental protection. Given the indexes' variability characteristics and synergistic coupling degree, the pre-selected indexes are redundantly screened, and the index system is streamlined. The variable weight hierarchical analysis method based on intuitionistic fuzzy theory is used to determine the comprehensive weight coefficients and define the total assessed value of the energy storage system. The Garver 6-node test system is taken as an example: the proposed assessment method is used to sequence the different scheme groups and select the optimal configuration scheme. The results verify the rationality and effectiveness of the method.
