A Rising 2D Star: Novel MBenes with Excellent Performance in Energy Conversion and Storage

Abstract

Highlights Two-dimensional transition metal borides have high mechanical stability, high charge carrier mobility and great electrochemical performance. The potential applications of two-dimensional transition metal borides in the direction of energy conversion and storage have not been systematically reviewed. We summarize the research on the role of two-dimensional transition metal borides in catalysis and ion batteries, and put forward the new opportunities in preparation and biotechnology.
