Readers today enjoy historical novels, especially about recent events; is this the reason why many promising young authors attempt to write about the Second World War, although they were not born at the time? Are such attempts legitimate or not? How do they weave historical matters into new forms (fantasy, nonsensical humor, day-to-day relations)? Is "political literature" doomed, or does it survive in a modern version?
