The subject of the article is focused on the theoretical basis and the results of critical discourse analysis of educational policy of the European Union concerning educational inequalities. These analyzes were made through the official strategy or recommendation documents (programming documents and expert concerning ed- ucational aspects) and are based on interviews with representatives of the EU admin- istration and experts. The starting point for this discussion is not the question about “whether”, as according to the official discourse, one should prevent social inequalities in educational system, but “why” should we counteract them? In conducted analysis, I used the construct of “regimes of justification” (fr. régimes de justification) - category developed by Luc Boltanski, Laurent Thevenot and Ève Chiapello. This article’s aim is to identify and reconstruct educational policy discourses present in educational policy, which represent different “regimes of justification” of policies and practices of inclusion and an attempt to consider the consequences of this variety of discourses in the context of well-known and documented in social sciences thesis of the dominance of economic rationality in educational policy.
