The theme of upbringing and education in M.N. Muravyov and R. Fakhretdinov's works
Abstract
The theme of education has been actively developed in Russian and Tatar literatures from the ancient times to the present day. Special attention has been paid to Russian and Tatar writers of the 18th – early 20th centuries. This is primarily due to the spread of the enlightenment ideology in Russia. In Russian literature, these ideas were actively used by writers of the 18th century. In Tatar literature, this period covers the late 19th – early 20th centuries. The unity of themes in the philosophical, pedagogical, and artistic works allows to detect typological similarities and differences in the artistic understanding of Russian and Tatar enlightening writers of different literatures, periods and literary trends. In this paper, we have considered the artistic expression of the theme of upbringing and education in the works of M.N. Muravyov (1757–1807), the Russian sentimentalist writer, and R. Fakhretdinov (1859–1936), the Tatar enlightening writer. M.N. Muravyov, a striking and unique representative of Russian education, actively developed ideas of education in his enlightening writings, letters, and art works of various genres (poetry, prose, and drama). M.N. Muravyov expressed his opinions about education, about interpersonal relationships in the family and society, which went far beyond its narrowly academic significance. In the late 19th – early 20th centuries, R. Fakhretdinov published a number of ethico-didactic books, expressing his opinion on parenting and family relationships.
