Abstract
The study presents evidence observed in a given ELT pre-service teacher education course with regard to the movement of change involving its prospective teachers' beliefs and attitudes. It discusses a certain mismatch that can be noticed between the theoretical perspective that the educators have in mind and the way the course is organized. It also discusses the process of change which, in its complexity, helps us to better understand the constraints that are met both by the prospective teachers in their construction of different beliefs and attitudes and by those interested in having courses, such as the one mentioned, restructured.
