Hamid Nutki is one of the outstanding representatives of the Southern Azerbaijan literature. He has special placein the modern South Azerbaijan literatııre. He was not only a poet, but he was also a great scientist and a journalist. For a long time Azerbaijani poets in Iran had to write mainly in Persian and they produced work of art in that language. Many of them started to us their mother tongue after using Persian for a long time in their works. The greatest of these was the immortal Azerbaijani poet Hamid Nutki. The sophisticated creativity of Hamid Nutki is analysed in this work. The connection between Hamid Nutki and the people such as Takihan Rıfat and Habip Sahir who brought the new poetry style to the Southern Azerbaijan and Persian literature and their role in the establishment and the developmenr of contemporary Azerbaijan poetry in Persia were emphasised. Hamid Nutki’s new poetry style and its deep philosophical content were examined by using some of his poets. His struggle on the spelling rules and literary language issues in the Southern Azerbaijan are tried to express. Hamid Nutki is mentioned as a romantic poet and a realistic journalist.
