To approach the distinction between the oral and the written is above all to give an account of the complexity of a reality which is substantially clear-cut in terms of the channel of diffusion (auditory/visual) and of a problem which is constantly being reconsidered, seeing between these two modes of expression the bridges which, under different designations : transcoding, transubstantiation or stylisation, demonstrate the possible intermediate forms that may result from what C.K. Orecchioni calls, on the one hand, the scripturalisation of the oral, which she sees as visible in the transformation of phonic material into graphic material, and, on the other hand, the oralisation of the written word, which is often perceptible in "oral-graphic" situations (classes, conferences, working meetings, etc.). The present paper is supported by a case study carried out in a professional context in which we have tried to observe the procedural documents oralization practices in order to better understand this process while questioning the possible structural variations that this transition to the oral could cause.
