THE RESULTS OF OPEN, MONOCENTER, NONRANDOMIZED, OBSERVATION STUDY WITHOUT CONTROL GROUP TO ASSESS EFFICACY AND SAFETY OF ETANERCEPT TREATMENT IN COMBINATION WITH METHOTREXATE IN PATIENTS WITH JUVENILE IDIOPATHIC ARTHRITIS LITERATURE REVIEWS
Abstract
The study objective was to assess efficacy and safety of etanercept treatment in combination with methotrexate in 25 patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis. In this study were included 25 children with poly- and oligoarticulate variants of juvenile idiopathic arthritis aged 8 (6; 11) years. In the beginning of the study 17 patients had poliarticulate variant, 8 children — oligoarticulate. High clinical activity of the disease was accompanied by general inflammatory reaction. Analysis of the results has shown that etarnecept treatment ensured statistically significant and trustworthy positive dynamics of clinical and laboratory indices of disease activity. After 6 month of treatment 59% (13 from 22) of patients were diagnosed with inactive disease, after 12 months — 86% (19 from 22) of patients had this status. Etanercept treatment was well tolerated and the majority of side effects were minor or medium, reversible and caused no interruption of the treatment. Key words: juvenile idiopathic arthritis, etanercept, metotrexate, life quality, efficacy, safety. (Voprosy sovremennoi pediatrii — Current Pediatrics. — 2011; 10 (5): 24–31.)
