In the article we characterized organic and inorganic wastes in terms of their suitability for agricultural use. The sources of waste formation and methods of their processing into fertilizers are presented. Individual processing technologies and their advantages and disadvantages are discussed. It was pointed out that direct application of many types of waste for soil fertilization is problematic due to their unfavorable physical and chemical properties as well as uneven organic matter and nutrient content. It was found that the most advantageous technology for the production of fertilizers from waste is their processing in the form of granules or pellets. As a result of fertilizing soils with wastes produced from wastes, it is possible to achieve significant improvement of physical and chemical properties of arable soils, increasing the pH of organic matter, increasing clay content in the soil, and increasing the macro and micronutrients available to plants.
