Más evidencias bibliográficas para una controversia: el “colofón métrico” de la Celestina a la luz de dos nuevas ediciones tempranas de la Tragicomedia (“Sevilla 1502”)

Abstract

The recent discovery of two new early editions of the Tragicomedia de Calisto y Melibea, including in both cases the year 1502 in the miscalled Proaza’s «metrical colophon», makes us reconsidering the revitalized bibliographical controversy about the reason for that reiteration. The typographical analysis of the copy found in the National Library of Naples, in the context of the post-incunabula transmission of the work, let us refuse that date as a misprint. Rather, it helps to clarify the function and the reason of what was a prolonged printers’ stratagem of editorial forging during the first two decades of the sixteenth century.
