The way of life in forest settings is the basis of the concept of Extractive Reserve proposed by the social movement of the Amazonian rubber tappers in the 1980s. This way of life was formed under the hierarchical system and specialized dispensing, but is far from reducing to it. The placement is a social and an economic system characterized by multiple use of forest areas by a network of relatives houses, sharing in common environments. The system of placements has the potential to constitute itself, under its institutional recognition as the basis of extractive reserves in the model of an institution of collective use of the forest that is less aggressive towards nature and that can provide a good life for their inhabitants.
