Gender abuse in «I Give you my Eyes» (2003)
Abstract
In our country, the films about domestic violence in a perspective of rejection and calling for social awareness are scarce and very recent. Probably the most representative film is Te doy mis ojos. It expects to help raise sensibility and make the audience think about this serious problem in our society. No doubt that in order to carry out this project, the team had to undertake serious and rigorous research. Indeed, this film is a real manual (or at least attempts to) on gender violence. It has “everything” related to this health problem: the cycle of violence, escape plan, health diagnostics failed to detect the problem, the suffering of the victim, their need for support and guidance as well as the context of the perpetrator
