The veterinarian specific instruments, are either identical to doctors’ ones or adapted to certain animals. But it happens very often that caregivers have to use everyday life objects, especially if it is a matter of urgency. The rule of the stable boy will serve to stimulate a painful area or to cauterize, a wooden plank used as a splint, a horsehair bundle will replace the lint. These alternative items can provide informations on medical procedures and some clues about the identity of the nursing staff. And above all, they allow the reconstruction of concrete elements of the veterinary world.
