The article discusses the views of Mary Richmond and Jane Addams regarding the social rights of persons with disabilities, from the point of view of both the defense of democratic deals and the special attention provided to them in order to enhance their empowerment and consolidate their integration into society as citizens with full rights. It also addresses the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, as well as certain milestones in Spanish legislation, in order to relate the defense of their social rights to the founding principles of Social Work.
