Los achuar y el ecoturismo: ¿una estrategia sostenible para un desarrollo autónomo?

Abstract

This article proposes to question the “sustainable” and “self development” character of ecotourism, analyzing the Achuar case of Kapawi Ecolodge & Reserve. The author shows how the agents of tourism (both local and external) have played a major role in the development of this activity, involving a profound recomposition and reconfiguration of economic, political and identity Achuar structures.
