Pore structure and fractal features of Zhiluo Formation sandstone aquifer in Binchang Mining Area
Abstract
In order to study the micro pore structure and fractal characteristics of Zhiluo Formation sandstone aquifer in Binchang Mining Area, the characterization parameters, such as pore size, perimeter, area and morphological characteristics of sandstone surface at different depths, are obtained by scanning electron microscope(SEM). At the same time, the fractal dimension and morphological characteristics of sandstone aquifer pore structure are deeply analyzed combined with fractal theory. The results show that the pores of the sandstone aquifer of Zhiluo Formation in Binchang Mining Area are developed and diverse, and the pore space is composed of four pore types: macropore, mesopore, small hole and micropore. The mesopores and macropores account for a large proportion of the total pore area and are the main water storage space of Zhiluo Formation sandstone aquifer. According to the pore perimeter and area extracted from sandstone samples, it is found that the fractal dimension of sandstone pores is large, the pore distribution is uneven, and the pore morphology is complex.
