„To be not to have”- career aspirations of genetation Z based on resaerch
Abstract
Objectives The aim of the article is to introdiuse employers and people managing human capital with the professional aspirations of Generation Z. Material and methods A survey was developed, which was divided into three main parts, the first concerns the knowledge of the student's own competences, knowledge about their strengths and weaknesses that are or will be useful at work. The second part is devoted to examining students' opinions about future "decent" work and the third part examining the adaptation of students to their future careers, Then the developed research results were subjected to statistical and comparative analysis to validate the obtained data. Results Generation Z knows their value, their strengths, which is why they want employers to adapt workplaces to their individual needs. The analysis of the conducted research shows a picture of generation Z as a generation oriented towards personal development and social values. Above career and achieving professional success, they put goals related to private life, including the implementation of their own passions and passions. Work and career are not a priority and an end in themselves, but a means to the realization of non-professional goals and values. For representatives of Generation Z, work-life balance is important. Conclusions The issue of understanding generation Z should be an important element of strategic activities of companies. The results of the study are not only scientific, but above all practical. They can be a real hint for employers on how to effectively manage young employees, how to build relationships with them, show mental support and give regular feedback in the form of praise, and how to use their potential, talents and competences to effectively achieve goals.
