Level of awareness of Irkutsk residents about the activities of public organizations and charitable foundations

Abstract

Charitable and public organizations play a key role in functioning of society; their activities are aimed at providing assistance and support to poorly protected categories of the population. However, in everyday life, a significant part of people is either not familiar with their functionality, or even confuse them with already established state institutions. This article presents an analysis of the results of a questionnaire survey of citizens of Irkutsk about their awareness of the activities of charitable and public organizations in the region. The study showed that the citizens of Irkutsk do not know about the actions and public activities of the selected organizations in general, but they already contribute to the charity of the region. These results may indicate the incompetence of organizations in terms of public coverage of activities and information openness.
