Overview of the Saker Falcon Task Force Activities in 2020 (Based on Meeting Minutes)
Abstract
After COP 13 work of STF intensified, and during 2020 there have been three meetings of the Task Force, protocols of which formed the basis of this review. These meetings were held online: the 5th – on June 24, the 6th – on October 28, and the 7th – on December 14. At the 5th meeting of the Saker Falcon Task Force (STF) in June 2020 the Chair Prof. Colin Galbraith welcomed the STF members to the teleconference and noted that this is a critical point, halfway through the implementation timeframe for the Saker Global Action Plan (SakerGAP) which runs from 2015–2024. In this overview, information is summarized on the topics that were reflected in the minutes of the meetings: – Mitigating Electrocution. – Developing the Adaptive Management Framework. – Monitoring, research and the evidence base. – Update on Task Force Membership. On the first two topics were more online discussion group meetings, the results of which were included in the outcome of the following meetings of STF. Also at the meetings, STF members shared the latest news on the study and protection of the Saker Falcon.
