The Effects Of Functıonal Treatment On The Vertıcal Locatıon Of The Mandıbular Condyl

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investgate the vertical direction displacement of mandibular condyle, during the treatment skeletal Cl 2 and dental Cl II, I cases, by using the appliances “U-Bügel Type I activator and conventional activator” letaral cephalograms and hand-wrist radiographs of 49 patients, taken in the beginning an and at the and of the treatment period, comprised the study material. Measurements were evaluated by using their effective values based on the reference systems which were constructed on the cranial base and the mandible. As a result, by the of two different functional treatment approaches, the growth of the condyles were stimulated and a posterior-superior locationing of the condyles were observed.
