Trajectoires résidentielles dans la métropolisation de Jakarta.Étude des mobilités résidentielles contraintes dans un quartier en marge
Abstract
Bintara’s district (in Bekasi, on the border of the municipality of Jakarta) benefits from a strategic location. Although considered vacant by professionals, this area is occupied by several social groups marked by the precariousness of their settlement. This paper shows how the trajectory of the inhabited place and the trajectories of the inhabitants reveal the processes of "vulnerability" of some social groups, especially in this context of urban modernization. Several urban projects into the agglomeration take part of a longer-term process of urban restructuring. So here emerge the production of the margins correlated with the new production standards of the city. This case study, based on empirical approach, provides an analysis of residential vulnerabilities and of appropriation’s ways of urban spaces, according to land access status, individual pathways and feelings of belonging to the metropolitan area.
