The aim of the research was the establishment of the optimal conditions for the extraction of the bioactive compounds from the oak sawdust and oak bark (secondary products of wood processing enterprises) and their characterization (study of the physico-chemical and microbiological properties). The process of extraction from the investigated vegetal material has been realized by using the static method (maceration during 24 hours) and the method of ultrasound treatment in ultrasonic field (during 30 min and 60 min) from the ratio 1:10 and 1:5 of the vegetal product/ solvent. The extraction has been realized at a controlled temperature in 3 consecutive steps for each method using as a solvent the 50 % and 70% of ethanol. The determination of the total contain of phenolic compounds has been realized by the Folin-Ciocalteu method with some minor modifications. Have been investigated the antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of the obtained extracts.
