This study examines the gaucho folklore as a touristic product in the city of Irati-PR, Brazil. The methodology used was literature research and fieldwork. For theoretical research was explored the themes tourism, market segmentation, culture, cultural tourism, folklore, heritage and cultural identity. This paper also discusses the origin and trajectory of the gaucho, general information about the presence of gauchos in the state of Paraná and the city of Irati, and a survey of folkloric gaucho present at the city. At the end of the search, the conclusion is that the gaucho folklore in Irati may represent a potential tourism product, but to can be used effectively there, must be a further development of tourism in the city in general.
