This article analyzes the challenges and security issues that arise in the management of terrorist prisoners in Indonesia, focusing on experiences in correctional institutions. Terrorism is a global threat that requires special attention in the correctional context, as terrorist prisoners have the potential to maintain and develop radicalization networks within prisons. In Indonesia, which has experienced a series of terrorist attacks, efforts to manage terrorist prisoners require a very careful and effective approach. This article outlines four main subtopics focusing on (1) radicalization in prison, (2) security management, and (3) de-radicalization and rehabilitation programs. By detailing the issues and challenges in each of these aspects, this research provides an in-depth insight into the complex dynamics involved in dealing with terrorist inmates in Indonesian prisons. The results can be an important source of information for policymakers, law enforcement, and researchers who seek to understand, prevent, and address the growing threat of terrorism within the correctional system.
